Hi, my name is India.

My love of painting has been a constant throughout my life and remains at the heart of how I experience and respond to the world around me. What began as a natural inclination towards creativity in my early years has grown into a dedicated artistic practice, shaped by observation, curiosity and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.

Working primarily in oils on linen canvas and panels, I am drawn to the richness and versatility of the medium. Through an intuitive and observant approach to brushwork, I seek to capture the emotional essence of a subject, allowing each painting to evolve through a balance of careful observation and expressive interpretation.

‘The changing seasons, emerging light and continual cycles of nature speak to new beginnings, quiet strength and the possibility of transformation.’

I paint in an impressionistic realist style, seeking to capture the beauty and significance of everyday moments in nature. Inspired by the countryside and coastline that surrounds me in Devon and the quieter beauty of intimate moments in my garden, my work reflects a deep appreciation for nature, memory and place.

I am drawn to fleeting scenes that might otherwise pass unnoticed such as the changing light across a hillside, a quiet woodland path, or the simple beauty found close to home in my garden. Through colour, atmosphere and careful observation, I explore themes of renewal, growth and resilience, finding reflections of the inner landscape within the natural world. The changing seasons, emerging light and continual cycles of nature speak to new beginnings, quiet strength and the possibility of transformation.

My practice is rooted in slowing down and paying attention. By translating these transient experiences into paint, I hope to create works that evoke a sense of connection with the natural world and convey the joy, wonder and inspiration found within it, encouraging moments of reflection, hope and renewal.
